Who Took My Pencil?

HSK 2 · A mini-mystery in the classroom: Xiaohua’s pencil vanishes, and everyone is a suspect.
上午,小华到了教室。
Morning, Xiaohua arrive (PERF) classroom.
In the morning, Xiaohua reaches the classroom.
她想做题。
She want do exercise.
She wants to work on her exercises.
她在桌子上找她的铅笔,可是没找到。
She at desk top look-for her (POSS) pencil, but not find.
She looks for her pencil on the desk, but can’t find it.
她问同学:“你看见我的铅笔了吗?”
She ask classmate: "You see my pencil (PERF Q)?"
She asks a classmate, “Have you seen my pencil?”
同学说:“没看见。”
Classmate says: "Not seen."
The classmate says, “Nope.”
小华问别的同学。
Xiaohua ask other classmates.
Xiaohua asks other classmates.
大家都说没看见。
Everyone all say not seen.
Everyone says they haven’t seen it.
她真的不知道铅笔在哪儿。
She really not know pencil at where.
She really has no idea where it is.
小华坐下来,看见椅子下面有东西。
Xiaohua sit-down come, see chair under have thing.
Xiaohua sits down and notices something under her chair.
是她的铅笔!
Is her pencil!
It’s her pencil!
小华笑了。铅笔从早上就在椅子下面。
Xiaohua laugh (PERF). Pencil from morning just at chair under.
Xiaohua laughs — it had been under the chair all morning.
老师进来了:“为什么大家都在笑?”
Teacher enter come (PERF): "Why everyone all at laugh?"
The teacher walks in: “Why is everyone laughing?”
小华说:“老师,我的铅笔在椅子下面。”
Xiaohua says: "Teacher, my pencil at chair under."
Xiaohua says, “Teacher, my pencil was under my chair.”
老师也笑了:“好好做你的题吧。”
Teacher also laugh (PERF): "Well do your exercise (SUGG)."
The teacher smiles too, “Alright, get back to work.”
大家都笑了。
Everyone all laugh (PERF).
Everyone laughs.
这是一个有意思的上午。
