Helping a Friend Move
我的朋友小丽有一个新房间。
My friend Xiaoli have one (M) new room.
My friend Xiaoli has a new room.
她想去新房间。
She want go new room.
She wants to move into it.
可是她有很多东西。
But she have very many things.
But she has a lot of stuff.
她打电话给我：“你能帮助我吗？”
She hit-phone give me: "You able help me (Q)?"
She calls me: “Can you help me?”
我说：“可以。我现在去。”
I say: "Can. I now go."
I say, “Sure. I’ll come over now.”
我到她家，看到很多东西。
I arrive her home, see very many things.
When I get there, I see all her stuff.
我们一起走了很多次。
We together walk (PERF) very many times.
We make many trips together.
新房间真漂亮。
New room really pretty.
The new room is lovely.
小丽给我一杯水。
Xiaoli give me one cup water.
Xiaoli gives me a glass of water.
她说：“真的谢谢你。”
She says: "Really thank you."
She says, “Thanks so much.”
我说：“不客气。朋友就是这样的。”
I say: "Not be-polite. Friend just is this-way (POSS)."
I say, “Of course — that’s what friends are for.”
我们坐下来休息。
We sit-down come rest.
We sit down to rest.
小丽说：“今天晚上，我请你吃饭。”
Xiaoli says: "Today evening, I invite you eat-meal."
Xiaoli says, “I’ll take you out for dinner tonight.”
我笑了：“好。我也累了。”
I laugh (PERF): "Good. I also tired (PERF)."
I smile, “Sounds good — I’m tired too.”
