小丽最喜欢的地方是图书馆。

Books she set on her desk would disappear after a few minutes.

The first time, she figured she’d forgotten where she put it.
第二次，书又不见了。
Second time, book again not-seen (PERF).
The second time, a book disappeared again.
她决定自己注意看。
She decide self pay-attention look.
She decided to watch carefully.
她拿了一本新书，放在桌子上，然后去找水喝。
She take (PERF) one (M) new book, place at desk top, then go find water drink.
She grabbed a new book, set it on the desk, then went to get some water.
回来的时候，书已经不在桌子上了。
Return come (POSS) time, book already not at desk top (PERF).
When she came back, the book was already gone.
小丽觉得这真奇怪。
Xiaoli feel this really strange.
Xiaoli thought this was really odd.
她坐在远一点的椅子上，一直看那本书的位子。
She sit at far one-bit (POSS) chair top, continuously watch that (M) book (POSS) seat.
She sat further away and kept her eyes on where the book had been.
过了十分钟，她突然看见一只猫从桌子上拿了书走开。
Pass (PERF) ten minute, she suddenly see one (M) cat from desk top take (PERF) book leave.
Ten minutes later, she saw a cat grab the book off the table and slink away.
小丽跟着猫走。
Xiaoli follow (CONT) cat walk.
Xiaoli followed it.
猫走到图书馆的后面。
Cat walk to library (POSS) back.
The cat headed to the back of the library.
那儿有一些小猫，还有很多书。
There have some small cats, also have many books.
There were a few kittens — and a small pile of books.
小丽明白了。
Xiaoli understand (PERF).
Xiaoli understood.
她笑了：“你也喜欢看书？”
She laugh (PERF): "You also like read book?"
She smiled, “You like books too?”
她决定不告诉别人。
She decide not tell other-person.
She decided not to tell anyone.
下次来图书馆的时候，她想给这些小猫也带一本书。
Next time come library (POSS) time, she want give these little cats also bring one (M) book.
Next time she visited the library, she would bring a book for the kittens too.
